At the first-ever Creating Climate Wealth summit held in Asia, leading executives, investors, academics, entrepreneurs, and public sector representatives gathered to dream big and develop innovative opportunities for achieving profitable carbon emission reductions. Hosted in Singapore at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Marina Bay Sands, attendees applied their expertise and generated cutting-edge ideas in one of four working tracks:
- Energy Efficiency in the Built Environment
- Maritime Shipping
- Smart City Systems: Machine-to-Machine Technologies
- Waste-to-Energy Technologies
In each of these sectors, the Carbon War Room has identified mature technologies with the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions while providing strong returns on investment. At the summit, we sought to assess and address the most pressing barriers preventing the adoption of these technologies in the Asian region. Collaborating in open roundtable discussions, attendees developed solutions to those barriers and identified ways to facilitate the market’s ability to take full advantage of these technologies. At the end of the two-day discussions, the working track groups presented their findings to a panel of major investors and change-makers.
